Circus is a hand crafted lamp using a French wire-work technique of construction that uses only knot ties without weldings. This projects started out of the eagerness to explore this technique, understand its limits and the volumes that can be created out of a delicate wire frame structure. The shape of the lamp was inspired by the simple constructions of circus tents and by embracing the imperfections of this craft, it gained its unique clumsy character that contrasts with the perfection of industrially mass-produced objects.
